Designer Fendi Artist Baguette Bag
Feelin a little creative? Fendi has just the thing to fill your free time, the Artist Baguette.

For this DIY project you will need $1,300. For that price, you will get a box of special Fendi markers and a plain white leather ‘baguette style’ bag, minus the signature logo pattern. Although, all you friends will know it’s Fendi, with the interlocking “F‿ magnetic closure on the front flap.

I don’t know about this whole artistic paint it yourself project idea, for me. I guess if I was super artistic then I would take a crack at. However, I lack that special artistic trait when it comes to painting or drawing.

Also I would rather pick up the signature Fendi white Anniversary Baguette for $300-less over at Saks Fifth Avenue, then when I get sick of it a couple months later (like so many of my bags), I will pawn it off on one of my arty friends to have a go at it.
What do you guys think of this idea? Do you wish that more designers had DIY projects like this? Or should the creativity be left to the designers.

Find the Fendi Artist Baguette Bag at Neiman Marcus for $1300 (preorder)

Cork Clutch by Maison Martin Margiela
Ever wish there was a purse to match those cute little cork wedges? Well, there is now. Belgian fashion designer Martin Margiela, who had formerly worked for designer Jean Paul Galutier years ago, has created a few innovative pieces for the upcoming seasons, including this cork clutch.

You might be asking yourself how material such as cork could be transformed into purse-wear, as I asked myself the same question upon spotting this slim, envelopish clutch. The Cork Clutch by Margiela is actually made of smooth cork-coated leather. The leather provides durability, as this was another thought I had about how it’s held together. The clutch features a flap top with a snap button closure and the inside is lined with soft leather that slightly gleams. There is also an interior zippered pocket for any small items that you may carry. The dimensions are 11.75″x 6.75″x 0.75″, providing just enough space to fit your key items.

There is something about this new piece by Margiela that has my interest. I am personally more of a pouchette or wristlet person when I only need to carry minimal items for a quick stop somewhere or a night out dining. But besides it’s unique cork feature, this clutch also presents a certain elegance and simplicity that is appealing. Although I have a feeling I won’t be catching many carrying the purse this spring and summer (well, in my town anyway), the cork-like characteristics to its slim shape, but spacious interior for what it is, has earned itself a spot on my wish list.

You can purchase is here for $495: Maison Martin Margiela - Cork Clutch - eLUXURY

p.s. – if you’re a fan of the clutch, there is also a matching cork belt by Margiela for $245.

Designer Fendi Mini B Clutch
I was always a fan of the Fendi B Bags, particularly the shoulder bag as the buckles were more appealing on them. And when I saw the mini B Bag clutch, I thought it was adorable. Here we have the B Clutch by Fendi in shiny orange leather with black stitching. I know, sounds kind of Halloweenish, but it’s actually quite lovely. Though it wouldn’t be my first choice as I’m not a huge fan of the color orange. But anyways, it also features two fine and delicate brass straps for carrying. They look so thin that I’d be afraid of breaking them, but then again, it’s made by one of the highest quality designers so I’m sure they’re very durable.

I love this mini version of the B shoulder bag by Fendi, especially the little (giant to the clutch) buckles on the front. Another great detail is the tiny Fendi logo exhibited on what is suppose to be a representation of the metal fastener that slides through a hole on a belt. This piece would definitely add a little glamour to evening wear. Also, there is enough room to carry a few small items as it measures 8.5″x 5.5″ x 2.5″. Even the handle drop length, which is 5″, allows you to carry it comfortably. And I can’t forget to mention that it’s on sale for 30% off or $826 marked down from $1180!

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) — A defense attorney for fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander told jurors Friday in closing arguments that his client should be acquitted of rape charges because his accusers are lying and seeking revenge.

Fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander, shown in 2004, is on trial on 27 counts of rape and sexual assault.

“How many times did you hear ‘I don’t recall’ from them during the trial?” asked defense attorney Leonard Levine. “I stopped counting at 300. These women lied. They lied, they exaggerated, and nobody cared — but you should care.”

The case now heads to the jury, which will deliberate next week accusations that Alexander raped nine women, most of them aspiring models, at his Beverly Hills apartment.

He faces 27 counts, including forcible rape and committing lewd acts on a child, stemming from assaults that are said to have happened between 2001 and 2007. The alleged victims ranged in age from 14 to 21.

Levine said the women who testified against Alexander “invited what happened” and then made up stories so they could sue Alexander after his criminal case.

Prosecutor Frances Young told jurors that Alexander is a “sexual predator” and should be found guilty because he humiliated and degraded naive girls who came to Hollywood with dreams of fame.

“What we heard was four male lawyers defending their male client, and what we heard was a lot of misogyny,” Young said. “These girls did nothing wrong. None of these girls invited what happened to them.

“This is a very sick man,” Young told the jury. “He was an abuser of women who picked a profession where he would be surrounded by teenage girls.”

Beverly Hills police began investigating Alexander in March 2007, when a woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted by the designer in his apartment. Before his arrest in June 2007, Alexander was featured on the TV show “America’s Next Top Model.”

If convicted of all counts, Alexander faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
